Arts Education

Arts education has been a vital part of The Straz mission since it opened in 1987. Functioning under the auspices of the Education Department, Patel Conservatory strives to provide the finest performing arts training to everyone.

The Patel Conservatory offers unique and diverse opportunities in its programming and classes and in the Tampa Bay community including off-site performances, educational outreach and a variety of enrichment programs for educators, families, community partners and adults.

Working with community partners, the conservatory reaches those otherwise unable to participate by providing free or discounted performance tickets, plus open dress rehearsals, lectures, talk-backs, master classes and workshops.
