That’s why we make it easy for student groups to get one-of-a-kind encounters with the performing arts. Student groups can access low-priced tickets to performances from Broadway, opera and more!

Shakespeare for Students

Jobsite Theater, resident theater company of the Straz Center, brings great literature alive both in theater and in the classroom. Weekday matinees for students begin at 10:30 a.m. Tickets priced at $12. Groups attending this field trip performance will receive a study guide and the option of a classroom visit from a teaching artist both before and after your show.

How To Reserve Field Trips

    • Public, Charter, Private and Home schools: Send all inquiries and requests to fieldtrips@strazcenter.org or call Group Sales at (813) 222-1047 or (813) 222-1016.

Prepare Before You Order

    • We ask that you have the following information ready when you contact us to make reservations or a purchase:
      • A list of shows you would like to attend, as well as alternative selections in case your first selections are sold out.
      • Your school’s mailing address and phone number, as well as an email address for the primary contact person for this trip.

Complimentary Ticket Policy

    • One chaperone ticket will be provided for:
    • Every 15 paid student tickets
    • Every five paid special education student tickets.
    • Each paid student requiring one-on-one assistance for any reason

Confirmations, Changes, Payments and Cancellations

    • An invoice confirming your order and containing payment instructions will be mailed or emailed to the school contact supplied at the time of the reservation.
    • If you need to make any changes to your reservations, such as increasing or decreasing your number of tickets, contact Group Sales as soon as possible.
    • Payment in full must be received 30 days before the date of the performance you’re planning to attend, or your reservation may be cancelled. Checks should be made out to Straz Center and mailed to Straz Center, 1010 N. W.C. MacInnes Place, Tampa, FL 33602, Attention: Group Sales. There are no refunds available after final payment is made.
    • Cancellations must be made a minimum of 30 days before the performance. Your reservation will be cancelled if payment is not received by the due date on your invoice. If cancelling a reservation with less than 30 days notice, the school will be responsible for 50% of the total balance due indicated on the confirmation invoice.

Prepare Before You Arrive

    • On arrival, the lead teacher of each school will be required to check-in with the group sales team providing an accurate headcount of both students and adults day of.
    • All attendees will be required to pass through metal detectors before entering the venue.
    • Backpacks are prohibited on campus. Purses, medical and messenger bags cannot exceed 12” x 6” x 12” and will be subject to a bag check before entering. Security operators will view the interior of the bag and if no violations are found or observed, the guest will be given clearance to proceed into the event.
    • To expedite the security screening process, we strongly encourage all guests to come bag-free and utilize our express security line. All weapons and self-defense items are prohibited and can result in denied entry (firearms, knives, pepper spray, etc.).
    • Due to limited space and event scheduling, the Straz Center is unable to allow students to eat lunch on property. Some rare exceptions can be made, but schools must receive clearance in advance.
